Questions & Answers about working with a

Virtual Assistant In The UK

How is a virtual assistant different to an employee?

Virtual Assistants are generally self-employed freelancers. This means they work remotely; you do not need to provide an office space for them, nor do they require any benefits. You can also engage them for as little or as much time as you wish, meaning you pay for the services you receive, there is no monthly salary to pay.  There are no training costs, Virtual Assistants are ready to hit the ground running.

How much does the support cost

We have packages for different areas of support, tiered to different levels of support, dependent on what you need. Typically, support starts from around £30 per hour. We prefer however to focus on the deliverables for you as opposed to an hourly rate – when we know what support you need, we’ll package that up for a set monthly cost.

What can a virtual assistant help me with?

A Virtual Assistant can help with administrative tasks, often remotely, replacing the need for an office based Personal Assistant. They can be a real asset to your business, helping your business and you to grow and run more efficiently. This leaves you to concentrate on your passion…your business!

How do I communicate with my virtual assistant?

We like to keep things simple – depending on your preference, you’ll communicate inside our task management platform Asana, or can keep in touch via WhatsApp. Regular update calls – fortnightly or monthly are recommended, with on zoom or a telephone call. Communication is key for creating a great working relationship, and having realistic expectations of deadlines.

Am I tied into a contract?

We will have a contract for our work together – but just need one month’s notice to bring our relationship to an end if it doesn’t feel like it’s working out for you

What work should I delegate?

This is entirely up to you! The best way to think of it is which tasks you don’t actually need to do, that can be outsourced. What tasks take ages and prevent you from pushing your business forward? These are the tasks you should be delegating!

What happens if I require an emergency task I need help with at short notice?

Just ask! Our Virtual Assistants will be happy to help if they can. If they can’t, they’ll let you know a realistic completion date. We’ll always do all we can to accommodate your needs!

How do I know how many hours of support I'll need?

This is one of the benefits of a Virtual Assistant, you can try for a few months and see how many hours you need. Or estimate how long it takes you to do these tasks and use that as an estimate for your Virtual Assistant. We’re happy to be adaptable and scale up or down your hours or support as required.

How quickly will my project or tasks be completed?

It’s important you are clear with your Virtual Assistant on when you need tasks completed. If there is a deadline, discuss it with VA to make sure it is achievable, and they have all the information they need to complete the task for you.

We strive to deliver work timely, always meeting deadlines and achieving excellence.

Does the virtual assistant track their hours?

Yes. We use time tracking software to ensure we only charge you for the hours we work. These can be downloaded into reports so you can see how your time is being used, and you can delegate more or less tasks as you feel appropriate.

How do I know if I am ready to work with a VA?

This is entirely up to you! The best way to think of it is which tasks you don’t actually need to do, that can be outsourced. What tasks take ages and prevent you from pushing your business forward? These are the tasks you should be delegating!

I have a task that involves a lot of steps, how will I explain the instructions to the virtual assistant?

Depending on which way you work best – a zoom call and sharing screen might be helpful, sending a voice note with instructions, jotting down the steps in a word document or, recording your screen using a platform such as Loom is a really great way to explain things whilst giving a visual resource to follow.

Our Virtual Assistant are professionals in adapting to your needs, as well as following instruction and learning quickly.
